Sharon Stone explains her shift away from Hollywood
Delving into her transition from film sets to art studios, Sharon Stone offers insights into her burgeoning painting career while staying connected with her audience.
Once a prominent femme fatale in the movie industry, the Hollywood star has recently redirected her focus from films to art.
In a recent appearance on Good Morning Britain, Stone shared her motivations behind venturing into visual art rather than pursuing a second career aligned with her acting background.
“I believe in a connection to spirit, in various forms that we each interpret differently,” Stone conveyed to hosts Kate Garraway and Ed Balls. “Creativity is when I feel related to that essence. And painting is a profound expression of my artistic vision, channelling the spirit within me.”
Expressing her passion, Stone emphasised the profound sense of tranquillity she derives from painting. “Whether it’s on-screen or canvas, the act of creation aligns me with my true self. It brings harmony to my world,” she elaborated.
During the pandemic, Stone embraced painting as a regular practice, finding solace in transforming her thoughts and emotions into visual art. “Each stroke is imbued with the depth of my experiences, echoing my innermost sentiments onto the canvas,” she shared during the ITV morning broadcast.
Stone has been candid about her challenges in Hollywood, from overcoming health setbacks to facing issues of misconduct and industry dynamics. Despite her successes, she found herself drawn to painting as a means of emotional release during the pandemic-induced hiatus from acting.
Reflecting on her journey, Sharon Stone recounted, “Amidst the turmoil of the pandemic, painting became my refuge. Each artwork became a testament to my emotional journey, a cathartic release onto the canvas.”
Now, Stone’s artistic endeavours have garnered international acclaim, with her exhibitions drawing audiences worldwide. With her latest exhibition, “My Eternal Failure,” debuting in San Francisco, Stone’s artworks command up to $40,000 per sale, reflecting the resonance of her creative spirit with art enthusiasts globally.
